Work Smarter, Not Harder
You’re always working but feel like you're not making much progress? The fact that people tend to work very hard, spending long hours doing tasks, isn’t it better to figure out how to minimize time to deliver maximum results?
There are a few ways for you to be organized and achieve more outcomes without stressing and burning out.
The 80/20 rule
Based on Pareto’s principle, 80% of your results should come from just 20% of your efforts. Sounds great right? But how can you achieve it?
Firstly, look at everything, find your top task, and prioritize it. Once you figure out what matters most, you can put more effort into it to achieve better results.
Secondly, if you find tasks that require so much time but don't bring big results, see if you can skip them, or maybe hand them off to someone else.
Say goodbye to multitasking
You might think multitasking helps you accomplish more, but oftentimes it reduces efficiency. Switching from one task to another may slow you down. So it is best to focus on one task at a time to achieve better results.
Take a break
After working for hours, take a break to recharge your brain. Focusing too long at work may decrease your attention span and this indirectly will affect your productivity. Hence trying the Pomodoro method where you work for 25 minutes and then break for 5 is the best way to boost productivity.
Minimize distractions
Do you get distracted every time a notification pops up on your phone? Or do you tend to scroll your Facebook or TikTok in the middle of work? You may not notice how much time you have wasted on social media and this could also be the reason why you are getting slow in progress. Hence avoid getting distracted by non-work related notifications to help you stay focused and get more done in less time.
Utilise technology
Why spend so much time figuring out something when you can use technology to help you think faster? It is time to utilize technology to save time in doing small things that require so much time to complete. Besides, the latest technology such as AI can help you achieve better results way faster than you can imagine.
